HBOS Reward Account error (please advise)

I recently opened a reward account. I transferred £1100 into it, then transferred £999 back, so the balance was £101. The transaction looked as if it had all gone through properly, with the transactions showing on both accounts. When I checked the next night, the £999 had gone back into the other account, but instead of £101, I had a balance of £1100 in the reward account. The £999 withdrawal had dissappeared from the recent transactions in the reward account. It would appear that I am £999 better off.

This happened last week and I still have an available balance of £1100 in my reward account. Do I do the honourable thing, calling into my local branch to tell them about the error they've made?

Nice. If it's not just an accounting time delay error (i.e. if the cash is still there in 7 days) go into your branch and tell them. They'll only take it back at the most inopportune moment otherwise, and may not stand in your favour for future transactions (i.e. they'll mark you up as a thieving !!!!!!)

You might get a little "thank you" for pointing it out..
