House sales funds - quick buck?

Friend is selling home and purchasing new house but doing so will have £750k in his bank for 3 weeks - is it possible to turn a quick buck in that time by sticking it in an instant access account, or are there any other to turn a quick buck?

Seriously though, yeah if he puts it into a reasonable instant access account he could probably get about £1k interest pre-tax.0
