Hi
My 14 year old daughter has finally been awarded compensation for injuries received when she was run over by a car :j . She now has £3000 which she would like to save for when she is old enough to start driving. Can anyone help me find the right kind of place to put her money in order for it to make as much interest as possible for her?
Thanks in anticipation

Not quite sure why you're jumping up in joy from her getting run over. However assuming she doesn't pay tax through earnings (and at 14 I should hope not), she can fill in an R85 form to get tax free interest.

Well, we were actually jumping for joy because it's taken 2 years for her to get the compensation money and this means we can finally draw a line under the whole debacle and move on. It's caused her a lot of stress over the past 2 years and we're just glad that it's now over and done with.0

I think that the:jshould be after the £3000 and not where it is.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
that would imply that we only care about the final figure which would be untrue. I'm most dreadfully sorry if my emoticon etiquette is not up to your rather exacting standards and will refrain fromusing them in any further postings0

No need to be so pompous or defensive, the first emoticon implied that your were jumping up and down because your daughter had been run over by a car whey whey.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

I don't really see how me defending myself from your assumptions is pompous and that was certainly never my intention. I merely pointed out the meaning behind my initial post in my first reply at which point you became involved (rather unnecessarily) and decided to post a reply which had absolutely nothing to do with the topic I actually required help with. I assumed this could be somewhere I could get some impartial advice regarding finances as opposed to a forum where I could learn to use emoticons correctly. Obviously I was mistaken and will now seek advice elsewhere0
