Contents Insurance help pls

I need to get a Contents Insurance policy only (I'm a tenant not a home owner) but have no idea about these things! I'll have a look if Martins done an article on it, but is there anywhere I can take out a policy online & get cashback say through Quidco etc? There's nothing much of value here so I don't need much cover, maybe £5,000 though I don't think everything I own comes even close to that. I do have a Dog & read sometimes some things with Dogs are included in policies, but I don't know if that's buildings or contents insurance?

Any help or advice welcomed x

you can use a website like confused.com to get quotes for contents insurance
or moneysupermarket might cover more providers

then go to quidco and see if your chosen provider offers cashback
Indecision is the key to flexibility :)

You don't think you have even £5,000 worth of stuff? That sounds very low, I am a 18 year old living with my mum only and we worked out we had at least £30k between us - remember fixtures and fittings, such as tellys, carpets, sofas, beds, fridges/freezers/washing machines, games consoles, basically anything that might need to be replaced. Bear in mind you're not just insuring against theft, but flood damage, malicious damage, fire, etc - so you need to consider everything that could be damaged in these circumstances, not just things that might be stolen.

Good sites to start at are market comparison sites such as confused.com and money supermarket.

Thanks both, i'll go & have a look at some comparison sites now! Nope, definitely not over £5,000 of stuff, no DVD players/games consoles/tv/cameras or camcorders/jewellery or anything, the washing machine is about 9 years old as is the fridge freezer & cooker, I bet all three were under £600 new!

One carpet @ about £200 new 3 years ago & that's it, a bed that was second hand when I got it 7 years back @ about £60 & 2 old armchairs, at least 5-6 years old & second hand. The most valuble thing is the pc but that's 4 years old & was under £500 new I think! There's only me & 1 Cat/1 Dog here & we're in a small rented place!

I need a life I guess lmaoooo i'm just not a material person! Still, I couldn't afford to replace anything if it was stolen/damaged so think i'd better have a look at the sites! Thanks both I really appreciate it x

    Hope it helps.

Have a look at More Than via Quidco, its around £60 cashback for contents insurance as I've just been looking into it tonight.

I set up contents cover with Swinton recently from a quote on money supermarket. Got cash back on that website (£25 i think) and another £45 through quidco. And that gave up to £50,000 worth of cover as standard, despite the fact I only needed £15,000 -ish!
