My DH was once one of 2 best men for a mate.

They both gave a short speech but it worked out quite well as the other best man got so hammered he was no use to anyone come the evening!

I don't think its weird at all, quite common these days in fact.

My son had 2 best men, 1 was his BIL to be and the other a good friend, all were close friends so the 2 best men did a double act bit like Ant and Dec, it was hilarious and had everyone in stitches. They even went out and bought identical suits! Go for it it's an excellent idea.

We're getting married next year and having 2 best men. OHs brother and friend who will like a groomsman. His brother will do all the official bits like the speech and signing the register but he wanted his friend there too for support. His friend would probably have said no if he'd had to get up and do a speech as he's not a confident speaker. I'm having 3 bridesmaids - my sis is my maid of honour and my 2 best friends. It's become the norm for the bride to have more than one bridesmaid so why not for the groom? Go for it! It's your day to do what you want with!

    Congratulations by the way!

We're having 2. One is H2b's best mate of years and the other is my brother. H2b gets on amazingly well with my brother (better than I do!). We are planning both of them to make a speech, one of them will have one ring, one the other.

I get married in 3 days time and I remember when we started planning someone said to me...its your wedding, you do what you like.

Well we have, and my OH has 2 best men and 3 ushers, one of our best men is shy also, so he will give a short speech first, then our other best man will give a longer more comical speech!

Its your wedding hun, have as many as you like, good luck
