Hi, I purchased these from Argos last year for using on holidays, and they are fantastic.
The range seems to be pretty good, I use rechargable batteries in mine, and they seem to last a long time, simple to use, my 12 year old thought it was great!0 -

i tried them out in a built up area .... one was in our house and the other in a friends house ( ground level in both cases ).... approx 0.5 mile apart with streets and streets of houses and tall buildings between them ... the signal was crystal clear ... I was only expecting that sort of clarity in open country.0 -
Just for info: Anyone wanting batteries, they are £2.99 a pack at Boots, but on 3 for 2. Also anyone with an Advantage Card can get a voucher from the machine which gives 50 points back per pack, so for three packs it costs £5.98 less points to the value of £1.50. You need batteries, see my post above. AAA x 3 each one I think. There are three ways to get something done; do it yourself, hire someone or forbid your kids to do it.0

You should be fine on a European cruise - although be careful the further East you venture. As I recall the European Union has allocated the same frequencies for unlicensed PMR - however you cannot use them in the US and probably many other places. So be careful in port.new_girl wrote:
anyone know if you can use these on board a cruise ship as they might be handy to keep track of the kids
Of course - out in the middle of the ocean, so long as you are not in maritime frequencies you'd be fine.0
