Not sure if this is the correct place but here goes.
We already have sky downstairs but my husband is having to spend long spells in bed. I have spoken to the sky man in the local shopping centre who told me either another receiver for £50 and £10 a month or Sky + for £99 and £10 a month.
Then we looked on line for set top boxes and saw that you can buy something similar to Sky + from £150 which means you can watch one programme yet record another and have no extra costs.
Has anyone any suggestions?
Many thanks.

The simplest way of getting Sky into the bedroom is to use a TV Link, its a wired connection from your Sky box to the second TV and it has a magic eye to change channels remotley. Buy them at Tescos , Argos and the like. Problem is you have to watch the same satellite channel on both TVs.
The other route is to use a Freeview box or PVR, you need a good terrestrial aerial to the TV.
Humax makes very good PVRs, Single tuner 8000T or twin tuner 9200.
Check your postcode on the Freeview website to start with.

Another vote for Humax here, just installed the twin tuner 9200t, 160gig hard drive, two hour timeslip. VCR is now on borrowed time.0

Topfield 5800 pvr here, excellent quality and reception, a bit dearer than the Humax 9200.0
