I have a Lloyds Cheque Account (Silver), which I have maintained well but have never been offered anything else, I am due an inheritance which will pay in £8000 within 4 weeks and around £125,000 within 6 months, will this mean I will be offered more products or will it not change a thing now that they will see more money in the accounts (Silver and Savings).

Definitely take financial advice. Perhaps not a great idea in this climate to have such a considerable sum in just the institution.
Also depends why you are asking about this. Is it that you want access to more products and bigger "credit" facilities or that you are looking for banking service that is more personal?
I have a business account with HSBC and they have been trying to get me to open a premium account with them for some time; even had the branch manager offer to come to my house :-) The people I deal with there for my businesses are quite good. Only had to shout at them once since being with them :-) Can't remember what for though.
On the business banking side you get an account manager, I think it works that why too for the personal banking side for the premium account. You have to pay for it though. If I need anything then I just email that manager and it get's dealt with. Also it's good as a relationship can be built up - important in business anyhow.
Good luck with whatever you do.0 -

No that's HBOS. I am a criminal as I work hard and earn money.
HSBC are the good guys.0 -
I don't think I could recommend HBOS to my worse enemy. :rotfl:
Saying that other's are probably saying the same about HSBC and singing HBOS's praises.0 -

If HSBC are offering you a HSBC Premier account, then thats free (if you qualify - and you probably would based on your business accounts) and does also come with an account manager..

Got to love the banks for their comedy efforts at least.
To the OP, the second they catch whiff of the money you're coming into they will want a slice of the action! Run a mile I say![strike]Debt: £0.00[/strike]

I'm not anti-HSBC, but I will praise HBOS - who else is paying me 5% fixed on an instant access account until December?0 -

Looks like they're making money from you already.
The only time they've pestered me for new stuff is either when I go in to pay in cheques (they usually accept the first 'no thank you' I give them, or in online banking, where I ignore them.Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries0
