"This transaction had come from our business bank account by electronic transfer, like all the over salary, expense and dividend payments received over the last 6 years. £5000 is also a normal transaction. "
Arent divs supposed to be paid by cheque? Not Again0 -
I last received a dividend by cheque in 1998.1984ReturnsForReal wrote: »Arent divs supposed to be paid by cheque?
That high tech BACS system has done for me since.0 -
As that HSBC employee seems to be reading this thread I would be interested for his/her input on what the official line is for personal account money transfers and what stuff and limit raises the flags, if only for future 'hassle' prevention. Feel free to PM if you'd rather not say in public.

Even if I knew, I couldn't say at all, even by PM, for the obvious reason that if the criteria for fraud/money laundering becomes known, actual fraudsters/money launderers will try and get around them to avoid detection. If anyone actually does PM you, they're an idiot.0 -
Dividends don't have to be paid by cheque. :-)
It just has to all add up Company side on the accounts.
We emailed the Financial Director of Retail Banking last night so we'll see what the outcome of that is.0 -
My husband and I had the same problems with the same bank years ago. They messed up every account we ever had with them and made a shocker of a mistake with our mortgage. Ditch them and save yourself alot of grief.
Id also make a complaint to the financial ombudsman because their handling of your account is beyond unproffesional. What impression would it give if they blocked you paying/recieving payments for your company. They could damage your business.
We banked with flemings (I think they may have changed their name) They dont have branches, all done online or over the phone but they were second to none and never caused us any grief. A rarity in the banking world.

Also wanted to add that earning 200k gives you nothing near 20k a month.
After you'e paid higher rate tax, corporation tax, accountants and covered expenses its a hell of alot less.
Glad youve got it sorted and moved banks

What a saga!
Suggest you migrate your accounts to First direct at some point.
Award winning customer service and someone in the UK at the end of the phone 24 hours a day to sort problems.
I think there customer base is generally higher income tax tax payers though - so they won't throw a wobbly at a £650 tesco bill!

, it makes people wonder what you have been up to.0 -
The account is now showing as unlocked through Online Banking.
We have had absolutely no communication from the Bank but we did email
an Executive Director last night (Head of Retail Banking) and point them to
this thread.
Head is absolutely scattered. Shall talk more this evening but the matter is far from over - there has been a lot of distress.
Pupsicola thanks for sharing that you have experienced the same. Would be very interested in knowing more.0 -

Remove your funds from those incompetents now, and into a proper bank instead of a Frank Spencer style ex-Building Society.

Above post is quite funny.
I'd like to say the "female" Branch Manager give us a look like that but it wouldn't be the truth.
Account has been unlocked as quickly as it has as we have taken advice
from this thread and others.
Now our focus has moved to HBoS accountability. It's going to take a few days to fine tune our response; we'll post it here.
HBoS have been anything but reasonable with us so we see no reason to go easy on them. Watch this space. Gloves are off.
BTW - we are scouting for a highly experienced (with banking disputes) solictor. Not looking for compensation, looking to make a point.0
