What can you expect from a society which offered Scott Bell - the architect of Standard Life's fall from grace - a directorship sinecure?

This would leave Scotland without an independent building society of any size - Scottish BS & Century hardly feature on the radar.

And that's after they've effectively lost control of their main two banks to Westminster!
