I am a 2nd wife of a nrp who pays csa through the old system. Received a departure from the pwc today trying to claim profits from the sale of our house. My hubby pays 30% of earning every 4 weeks- pays willingly but on old system so he is being bled dry. She has mentioned on the form that she has tried to access my personal details but no access as he is a sensitive case. we have started complaint proceeding but I am unsure as to what I can do as the breach of conduct concerns my details and I cannot contact them as it is my husbands case. can anyone advise CSA have told us to start complaint proceedings.

If it's any consolation I don't think the CSA have a clue what they are doing for years my Mum and Stepdad were seperated he worked all over the UK as a builder, now they are back together. Well currently my Stepdad is paying £100 a month in CSA arrears which my my Mum receives. She then takes this payment to the post office cashes it then pays Stepdads following months CSA payment. She has informed them that they are cohabiting but to no avail. On the other hand my useless good for nothing real Dad used to brag about the fact he only had to pay 50p a week out of his dole money for my upkeep but hey the system isn't fair.0

A friend of mine works for the CSA. She told me they are not allowed to access any cases if they know the people involved. Therefore she should not ahve been trying to find this information.
You could complain to the ICE - the independent case examiner. You will have to phone CSA for details of how to do this as I can't remember.0 -
She shouldn't be accessing your details as this contravenes the Data Protection Act. Someone else should deal with your/husband's case and she shouldn't be checking anything. I would keep any written proof that she has done this as she could be in serious trouble at work for looking at your details for her own personal gain.
I worked for the DWP for 12 years and have seen a few members of staff face disciplinary action for doing this.
I know this wasn't your actual question but I think it's important that you make sure she has no access to your information.:smileyhea0 -
Been on the phone to CSA all day we have lodged an offical complaint and an investigation has started. My husband has raised the point about the Data Protection Act and the Civil Service Code as she is also contravening this.
It just makes me mad thinking that she has tried successfully or unsuccessfully to access my pay details.
Thanks for the replies really helpful. :T0 -
Don't be fobbed off by them though, it's a serious misconduct and she will have known this. There are always posters at work about fraudulent use of access to information and is included in the training material. They will be also able to trace her access use to see which cases she has been looking at.
Good luck.:smileyhea0
