Newspaper Scam

Don't know if this is on the correct board, but I thought I'd just warn you all about a scam cartain newspapers have started that I fell for this morning.

Went to local petrol station this morning to buy a daily newspaper (Daily Sport) and saw a massive 15p on the front, so i thought I 'd pick it up and save myself a few pennies.

Got to work, and realised that it was actually saying 15p off cheaper than other newspapers and the actual cost was 45p, more expensive than the mirror, express, sun etc etc!!!!!!

Be warned and don't fall for it, like I did!!!

I know I should have read the small print, but.............................
Regards

Sandy

serves you right for buying the sport :)
The word is BOUGHT, not BROUGHT.
    It's LOSE, NOT LOOSE.
You ask for ADVICE not ADVISE.

theres a magazine that does the same, cant remember the name of it, but it actually says 50p cheaper than heat.only when I bought it in a rush from tescos, I thought it was the price of the magazine itself! (its was actually, £1.35 I think!)
Have never bought it since, but notice they still do the same 'big red star with 50p' price in it.very misleading I think, I just havent got time to check EVERY detail when im out shopping.hubby wont believe that though, he thinks i takes hours in Tescos! rofl

I did the same at the petrol station last week. Dont usually buy it, saw 15p and thought why not.

However, I queried it. Jeez - I think I was as red as the The Sun newspaper by the time I left ...

  • the papers have been doing this recently. it's v naughty. The star did it a couple of months back.
It's all a big con to catch out people who have no time to read the small print. sneaky b@ggers.
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.
  • Hmmm ... The Sport eh?

The sport been doing this for ages.

It has said 'ONLY 5p' then in the small print it says 'off a dvd from an adult shop' before.
very sneaky, but it is legal.
