They're Using My Own Address To Spam Me

Happens to me all the time. You just have to put up with it as far as I know. I do use Mailwasher so they don't get to my Outlook express box, so it doesn't seem to annoy me as much as it did before using MW.

I think they use sophisticated programs to spam all combinations of emails addresses, like I said I rarely give this email address out nor do I advertise it, so its either a program that generates email addresses or one of my pc's has/is been compromised, which is unlikely given the security I use

If its any help gmail is quite good filtering for spam

As a matter of interest I use 0spam (zero) it's free and easy to set up.Check it out HERE. It does deal with the vast majority of spam that I get and you can keep adding address to block, though spammers do seem to change their address very regularly.

Yes this is called spoofing, its easly done by changing the from address in outlook or whatever client being used.

This is where SPF might help, but as FreheitOverture has already siad, not all receiving servers use this.

But if you ask your host to enable SPF on your domain / hosting account and explain to them the problems you are having they may be able to stop you getting the spam bieng sent from the spoof/spammer.
