can i close bank account while i still have overdraft and offer to pay overdraft off a bit each month?
have offset mortgage with same bank.can i cancel the direct debit that i send from my account and set it up from another account?
have loan from the same bank that i pay a direct debit from same bank account,currently the unemployment insurance is paying in the money to our account each month,can i request they pay it into a different account and why wont the bank let me cancel the direct debit on this? i thought direct debits could be cancelled at any time?

i think your bank will want both settled before the a/c could be closed.
get a new bank sorted (if they will take on the overdraft), then see what mortgage deals are better.Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
