    From what I've seen, suppliers are reluctant to agree to short term (e.g. one bill) plans, as you may only just finish paying off this bill when the next one arrives.
    They'd much rather get you on an annual plan (like DD), so you can spread the cost and they get a regular income.
    It sounds like you were lookiong for a short term plan - did they offer you a long term one? Would you take one if they did? - It might be worth making regular payments to them to make the bills smaller when they arrive.
    (Oh, and check you are on SP's best tariff and have a look at the switching sites to see if there are better deals for your needs)
