What can i do with these doors?

Hi, I am just doing the attic bedroom and it has a built in cupboard (had shelves in but removed them and made it into a wardrobe. Anyway, they don't look very nice and want to do somethin to make them look slightly better. I suppose i could just replace them with some more doors made up by myself but i would rather not.
I had the idea of getting some very thin MDF (or anything else) and putting it over each door. making sure its well painted white obviously and put long silver handles on each one.
Its a very old house.(well not very old)

Any ideas?

How about putting a couple of mirrors on each one.
Ikea have all sizes for not much £$£$

How about stripping and varnishing them?0

I actually think they look quite nice! I assume they are in keeping with the date of the house?
Personally I would just make sure they are painted really well and put a really nice set of period handles and a period lock escutcheon on them

I agree with Olias. I'd do the same. Paint them in a period colour probably but along the same lines definately. I think they're nice already.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I'd keep them & either stip them down & wax or varnish them, or sand them down & give them a decent paint job. They are a timeless style & with a little bit of work could look great. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
I agree with cattie strip them down and WAX them...................................................................0

what are the rest of the doors like in the house? if they are all different and you dont want to strip them how about putting wall paper in the panels? personally I would pay someone to strip them, its not very expensive and is quicker than doing it yourself.0

Thankyou for all your suggestions. Im unnsure about stripping them down as it tends to give an older look to the room. I will think about it, but if i do not go down that route whatever i do i will try and leave them in good condition just incase i want to at some point.
Cheers.Things that are free in life are great, well most of the time :beer:0
