Talktalk broadband access number help please.

Options
Hi I have just come off the phone after 2hrs with the tech team of talktalk. I was unable to get any internet and there was no signal to my modem.
I had an old bt voyager 105 modem and with this in place they were able to see a signal so concluded that my talktalk modem had died. He tried to help me set up the bt modem but didn't quite know how to without the drivers.

Anyway, I have fiddled about and got the modem working and can now use the internet. What I am worried about is.... Am I connected to talktalk broadband as the internet icon claimes to be taltalk (dialup) ?

The phone number in the connection box is 08452231020
I have spoken to talktalk tech services again but they didn't understand what I was saying. I just need reassurance that I won't be getting a massive internet charge for using talktalk dialup.

TIA

ADSL modems, like the voyager 105, don't actually dial anything. It looks more likely that you are connecting via your analogue (dial up) modem, from your description.

You are connected to the backup (56k) talktalk dial-up system. You will be charged for these calls and it is not broadband.

    Point your browser to http://192.168.1.1

If you're using the talktalk modem (can't recall which way round you were having problems), the username/password defaults to "admin"/"admin".
