accepted in principle means they are happy with your information so far but may need additional info e.g proof of debt if you are paying some off, bank statements or the like. They still could decline the application.0

Just had a nice chat with the lady from Nationwide who called. She said I'd actually been approved for a whole bunch more than I applied for!
I'm now considering paying off a credit card with it as well, which was an option I didn't have before and could save me a nice whack.0 -
