Chessington Travelodge

Hi we're staying at the Travelodge in Chessington on 2nd, 3rd Aug.We have Merlin Annual Passes and intend to visit Chessington. Never been before.

Q1. Is it far from TLodge to Chessington and is there a bus or would we need a taxi?

Q2 Is there anything else in the local area to visit I will have my 13 and 15 yr old sons with me.

Q3. Are you able to buy the big refilable cups of drinks and if so does anyone know how much?
Thanks for any replies

I used to live in Kingston Upon Thames, so know the area a bit. Have a look at www.tfl.gov.uk which shows that the 71 bus goes from the train station to the World of Adventures in 18 mins. Nothing else to do around the Travelodge (which is really in Tolworth), but the 71 bus also goes to Kingston which is a nice place. Cross Kingston bridge and it`s a good walk to Hampton Court along the towpath. Get Oyster cards and each bus trip is only 90p for adults, with a cap of £3 a day - unless this has gone up since Christmas.

There is not a lot in Chessington itself apart from the Theme Park, your not far from quite a few other nice places, why not have one night at Chessington and another night somewhere else

Chessington is a good day out, if you get bored you can just jump on a train to London etc etc.

    You can't argue with a £9 room!

Hi - I lived in Chessington for over 30 years and Suffolkb is quite right, the 'Chessington' Travelodge is actually in Tolworth. It's near enough opposite the station, under a subway, and from there you jump on a train to Chessington South (2 stops) then it's about a 10 min walk to World of Adventures, or less, depending on how fast you walk :)

and then the other way for something else to do, get on a train from Tolworth to London (Waterloo) - it's about 20 mins.

Hope you have a great time

We often stay at the Lpl St lodge as it is ideal for travel to these parts. If you don`t know it, www.walkit.com will draw you a map from the tube station to the lodge (E1 7DB). 0.2 miles. We discovered that there is nowhere to eat at night in the area except Macdonalds, so best to eat before you head back. Have a look in Timeout - usually someone doing BOGOF meals in central London midweek.
    Enjoy the show.

premier inn is £75 per room mon-thurs and 65 per room fri-sun (inc family). and is next door to the theme park. they also have a beefeater on site which is really nice!

however if u get a TL £9-19 deal then its cheaper, but thats if u dont mind the 3mile journey to the park.
