Bonusprint-do I have any consumer rights?!

Options
I ordered one of these a couple of weeks ago for my mum for Mother's Day.

http://www.bonusprint.co.uk/pages/photo_gifts_minishopper_bag.htm?level=1

It arrived this morning and I am so disappointed. I very carefully cropping it according to their instructions, but they have chopped half of my daughter's eye off sad.gif and cropped about an inch off all the way around the bag to wrap over the sides.

For £42-I really expected more mad.gif

What's more-I've googled Bonusprint and lots of other people have complained to them and their customer service sounds rubbish with no refunds etc and there is also no means of checking which photo I uploaded for them to use, so they'll no doubt say it was all my fault anyway.

They tell you that the photo needs to be square and that you can crop it square before you send it. I did this already so the photo was fine. What they've done is wrapped about an inch all the way around the edges of the bag, so the edges are all chopped off-including the baby's eye. I can't find anywhere that says they would do this and obviously wouldn't have ordered it like this, had I known.

The only thing I can think of, is that it gave me an option to 'crop to fit' (which removed a slight white border from the top and bottom-very thin) and I did this. I can't find anywhere on the website (unless there is another bit after checkout?) that says they will chop an inch off round the edges? It does say if you choose crop to fit, some loss of image will occur-but I presumed it might be slightly stretched, not chopping the edge completely off all the way around-I was just trying to avoid white bits on the bag?

Am I within my rights to return this as it is not what I wanted or what I believe I ordered? Am really unhappy sad.gif

I ordered a cheaper £10 bag for MIL (!) for Mother's Day which came 3 days later and is considerably nicer than this one!

Have I just checked £40 down the drain or not??

You ticked the crop to fit box and that's what they did unfortunately, not sure how you thought crop to fit might mean they'd stretch it, the clue's in the phrase - crop. I wouldn't think you'd be able to return it because it wasn't what you thought it would turn out like, have you contacted them at all to see what they say? I have had nothing but excellent service from Bonusprint, but then I read everything and know exactly what I am ordering and what changes if any they might make to the photo.
