Finished - now I just need to move

I received the keys to our first house at 1pm today :j
So from 1st viewing on the 1st Dec 05 to 22nd Feb 06 is 12 weeks. Deduct 1 week for christmas and that's not bad for a FTB with slow solicitors
My new neighbour has recommended a different damp company with an extra 10 years on the guarantee who are coming round on Sunday to examine things. Gas engineer my landlord uses (very nice bloke) will be round next mon evening to service boiler - I will take over a kettle beforehand so I can get him to show me how it works & check the cooker as well.
All going well we should move on the weekend of the 18/19th March giving us nearly 2 full weeks to clean up this flat.

Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!

That's great news frugglewump. Your purchase did go through pretty quickly all in all & it must feel good to have the keys in your hand.
It's excellent that your new neighbour has recommended a damp specialist giving a better guarantee than the other people you contacted. Getting a tradesman recommended is usually the best way forward.
Happy packing! :beer:The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Congratulations

Many happy years in your first home0 -
Good news, congratulations - ENJOY! :T :j :beer:0

I've just added up what it would have cost me to buy this house if I'd not been on the MSE site and the difference is between £900 and £5,900 depending on if we'd been dumb enough to offer full asking price.Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!0

Well Done and Congratulations  Great that you have the luxury of getting the place ready and moving at your leisure too!
I hope your new home brings you many happy memories!
