Do EA and LA have a blacklist?

You know like the building industry secretly kept lists of people who are activists etc.

I work in LA housing and we don't - we haven't got the time.

Too busy keeping up with the endless performance reports and Performance Indicators we have to produce

However, we do keep records of people we've evicted and those who have done runners leaving £000's of rent arrears - we ask them to repay before we rehouse them

I am on the blacklist of one branch of Bairstow Eves, for writing to say how angry I was that the business property they sent me to was overpriced, not as described, and the vendor was a complete nutter.

Though at least two of these things were true, and I'd wasted 160 miles worth of fuel, they still saw fit to 'blacklist' me. This confirmed my letter had hit home and I was rather pleased.

The property was eventually purchased by two people known to me, whose businesss practices had previously been a little 'sharp.' I think they did rather badly with it, as it is currently up for sale. It is still overpriced. but I no longer care.

So, yes they do, but I don't think they pass the info on to their rivals.

We don't, although there are some people I would like to blacklist! Hmmm, 2 particular investors spring to mind, never available on the phone, when you do talk to them they speak to you like you are a piece of poo, but they do buy houses and complete quickly so I have to grit my teeth and get on with it! We do have a list of tenants we have had problems with, so we don't make a mistake and find them another property shortly after they've trashed one/not payed any rent.

If they do, i'm probably on the blacklist of my EA after the letter of complaint I wrote to them the other day!:p:o

EA= Estate Agent LA= Letting Agent, rather than LA as in Local Authority;)
