No, he thought the some advice I had given was incorrect, even though it wasn't. I think he had issues!

I have been advising for 2 years, though have been relegated to gatewaying because we have alot of trainee advisers at our bureau and they are not allowed to go on the phones. I love being an adviser, most clients are greatful but you do get the minority that scream at you, though they are screaming at the system but we take the full brunt x

We don't have a phone service at our bureau, our bureau is linked with three others in our borough, and the main one does all the phone advice. I seem to do just about everything in the 2 days I'm in. Apart from gateway (which I quite enjoy doing), and advising, I do a bit of admin as well, mainly doing the minutes for the monthly staff meetings. I've also done a bit of reception work as well, but that seems to happen when I'm on gateway, as I have to walk through the main waiting area when I take the gateway sheets for the advisers - I just have one of those "ask me faces"!:D

We get quite a few trainee advisers too, and they've just started to let trainees come in with me to observe - blimey, that's a case of the nearly blind leading the blind!:D :D . It's interesting though, how you say that trainees aren't allowed to give advice over the phone, at our main bureau, that's the first thing they do, before they're allowed to give advice face to face! I've never had to do it though, much prefer face to face advice, as you can gauge the person more, and maybe pick up on something that you may not on the phone - but of course, everyone's different.
