cash isa transfer

howdey all,
I have already used up my 08/09 cash isa allowance,but want to transfer to a new provider.Most providers require a minimium amount to open a new a/c. If i open a new a/c does the balance transfer count towards the opening amount of the new a/c?

yes it does, transferred my ybs isa to halifax fixed 3.0% they opened account with a nominal value of a £1 to create a ref number. Money takes up to 60 days to transfer to new isa. from april 6th i can still put money into new account even if previous isa has not moved over.

Remember to sign the form at the new provider and they will arrange the transfer
