arrgh, how frustrating is this.... had3 accounts until lunchtime - went to check the £1000 SO has gone into to the first account to start the chain off and..... no it hasn't. Because I haven't paid in £100 cash to activate the account HBOS has declined the first account. The other two are fine but it's !!!!!!ed the round robin transfers up....

Spoken to their CS team and they are puzzled - no notes as to why the account has been declined. Can see I have no problems from a credit history point of view, hasn't been flagged up for a queery on money laundering, no overdraft on the account so no risk to the bank at all. They just said they'll look into it. Well that's March's benefit gone, £15 down

You've obviously (?) got Portfolio access to them so .... just move the £1k manually into the 2 x accounts that are OK?

That gives you £10 of it ....... but don't forget to neutralise the SOs meantime!

i dont like doing this sort of stuff online, as there is no one to shout at if something goes wrong. What are the chances of me going back in to the branch and opening a few more accounts?

this is genius, thanks to the op,

!!!!!!, i was in the branch the other day opening the reward isa and of course got the "is there anything else we can do for you" patter, i just shrugged off this current account.

i'm on it now though.:T

It was easy peasy online... Having a lot of bank accounts, I'm most impressed with Halifax's online system.

Does anybody know if it is still possible to open 3 reward a/c on the same name? If so, how do you do it? I just called Halifax and they assured me that you can only open 1 current ac/person.

No, the limit is one account in your sole name, and one account in joint names.
