New Savings Account

I have read Martin's section on savings, and it looks like that AA account is the right one for me. BUT, I have an issue with giving the AA my money!
Am I being daft, or is this a usual concern for someone who has never had £1 to save let alone over £3,000.

What's your issue? That you are a long-standing member of the RAC? That it's not a bank? That as a motoring organisation it's environmentally unfriendly?.........??0

Thank you. I feel a lot better for your advice. Of course it is nothing to do with the banks dropping like flies, and maybe a car mechanic could do it better!
I don't know anybody that has an AA account and would like to know of others experiences.0 -

Your savings with the AA bank would be fully protected under the Financial Services Cimpensation Scheme. The AA Bank is administered by Bank of Scotland who are part of HBOS and who have just become paet of LloydsTSB.Smudger8947 wrote: »Thank you. I feel a lot better for your advice. What AA savings account. There should not be any problem except Birmingham Midshires who are slow to open my 1 year fixed rate bond because they could not handle the applicants and are incapable of giving a straight answer.
Do BM customers need to provide ID?0 -
Sorry but can someone tell me what account is been discussed here?0

Thanks. If I am right and the bond is done by the Birmingham Midshires than avoid it like the plague as I have had really bad service from them.
This bond is not that good as Coventry had a 3.75% wth only £1.0 -

I opened fixed rate ISA. Forms got sent to me in 2 days, ISA transfer and ISA complete within a week. Top notch for me. Guess they just don't like you
