Car insurance advise please

Hi. I called my insurance today to notify them of 2 speeding offences. They said in the light of this, they could no longer protect my 7 yrs no claim bonus. I asked to cancel and they want £90 for the privilege.

I can understand asking for more money due to the points, but are they allowed to decline to protect my no claims mid contract? Can I at least avoid the cancellation fee as they decided to alter their level of cover (isn't that a breach of contract?)

Thanks

basically no, you have 2 speeding offences which have changed your risk rating , they are within their rights to refuse the cover

the cancellation fee is standard for any policy

Browntoa - I thought you were the in house Techie? Get out of the Insurance section....:p

A more extreme example. Say you were driving around, just mowing people down - does an Insurer have to wait until renewal to do anything about it?

    Which Insurer are you with?

    When was your renewal?

    When were the convictions?
