Mbna Rewards American Express

Options
Hallo all,

Has anyone recieved an off for an upgrade from MBNA platinum to the MBNA Rewards American Express?

They are stating that you earn 1 point for every £1 spent. Ive tried speaking to the customer services staff and visited their website but it doesnt show what you recieve for your points. The only way of knowing is to upgrade then login and then find out.

Incidentally they are offering 2000 points for upgrading. What are these 2000 points worth? They didnt seem to know!

Rgds,
D

£2000 worth of FREE MNBA points!!
If the points are the same as in the above thread, then allegedly 2000=£8  and cashback is 0.4% :rotfl:
  • I have received the letter from my MBNA Gold Mastercard to upgrade to the MBNA American Express cards and get 2000 free points. Has anyone found out exactly what the 2000 points are worth? Are they really only worth £8 ?

Will it affect my credit rating if I upgrade?

Is it worth doing it if it is only £8?

I don't really use the card much anymore, think I got it for a 0% balance transfer rate years ago... I guess I should have closed it by now!

What makes you think Amex will give you these points?

In my experience, you will just end up being frustrated by their incompetence.
  • I might do. I dunno. How knows.

I prefer to my TESCO points.

But the statement which I get from Fort Lauderdale or whatever makes me feel important and a bit Americanny,

The card is branded American Express but administered and underwritten by MBNA. MBNA will be the one giving the points on this card.
