Hello,
I have got it into my head that i would like to try setting up a website, which would be mostly based around a forum, not really bothered if it doesnt do too well as its more for me to mess about with!
Have been looking into hosting and i would like to have my own domain name, (i know the one i want is available).
there are so many hosting packages, i am getting a bit confuddled and would like some opinions on what would be the best all in one website creator and hosting package.
also as you may have guessed i am looking for something easy to use pref mostly set up but customisable, i dont know programming but am pretty good at finding out what to do and following instructions so i usually get there in the end!!
any advice would be great, thanks in advance. x

get cheap cpanel webhosting with a fantastico script installer.
install smf forums. they have plenty of free templates and add ons. do you want a website builder for content, or just a forum?0 -
tbh i think just a forum at the mo, but i suppose it would be nice to be able to add content if i got that far!
thanks for the suggestion will have a look now

Before i start, I am not advertising, Just offering my advice!
What i do for my clients (run a very small hosting site) Is set them up with Cpanel and Fantastico. Fantastico will install a phpbb forum, php nuke or wordpress site (blog) in around 7 clicks and comes with a good help manual.
I personally either use E107 or PHP Nuke Evo for forums, but if you are new to it all phpbb will be fine.
Most fantastic installers already have a lot of built in install scripts to make things a little easier.
What are you looking to do with your site?War does not decide who is right, It decides who is left.0
