might be a daft question but i dont know much about insurance.
my boyfriend had a 600cc motorbike which we insured for a year, he has just sold it after it being insured for about 5 months,
today he's gone to buy another motorbike 1000cc, what will happen when i tell the insurance company do they just give me a price differance to pay so that it is insured?
or if i cancelled the insurance and went with someone cheaper do i get a refund on the old policy?
we insured it with h&r insurance who i think are just a broker so im probably going to cancel it and go with someone else as the price on there website for the new bike was £2085

The easiest and normally cheapest is to just ring them and swop the bikes over, you will have to pay any difference in premium up until the renewal date of the original policy.
Its not normally best to cancel the policy as they will have a penalty charge for cancelling their policy so you need to take this into account.
P.S Its normally best to get quotes before you buy a new car or bike as sometimes the Insurance can be a lot more than you expect0 -
Doing anything in the first 12 months of an insurance policy is usually to your detriment.
Stick with the incumbent.Reassuringly expensive0
