Anniversary offer
:
both new customers and our existing ones get the same two year anniversary offer - guaranteed.0 -
'Some introductory offers - here today and gone tomorrow. Well, we're a bit more committed to our customers than that. We want you to join us for all the right reasons, and to stay for them too. That's why both new customers and our existing ones get the same two year anniversary offer - guaranteed.
Get an introductory offer that goes on and on
Take out an Egg Card and you'll get 0% interest on balance transfers until 1 November 2006 (2% handling fee, maximum fee £50) and 0% on new purchases until 1 August 2006 - then at our standard variable rate, currently 15.9% pa variable. Then, in the anniversary month your account was opened:
For applications made after 1 January 2006, you'll get our 0% offer again for up to five months on balances transferred in the anniversary month every year until 2008 - guaranteed.
For applications made after 1 January 2005, you'll get our 0% offer again for up to five months on balances transferred in the anniversary month every year until 2007 - guaranteed.
For applications made on or before 31 December 2004, you'll get our 0% offer again for up to five months on balances transferred in the anniversary month every year until 2006. And that's guaranteed too.'
Perhaps Martin could change the title of his Egg article? I got all excited thinking it was 'guaranteed 0% year after year'. But then again, I wouldn't have known about it at all without this site, Egg certainly never told me!0 -
To the OP , I dont know really. Could you do a search and post the results?0

Having checked with Egg in advance - and got it in writing (0% for transfers made in that month and no fee) that this does still apply to me - and having it called them anyway and had it confirmed to me again today, Egg are definitely saying that the anniversary BT offer extends into 'this year' and 'next' for new and existing customers. When I queried that I have already had two transfers under this scheme (March 2004, and March 2005) they said: "It's a loyalty scheme - and you also qualfiy next year".
Well the point I think he was trying to make was that the current Offer extends all to 'new' customers for two anniversary periods (until 2007 or 2008) depending on when you opened your Egg card. Until they withdraw or change the terms of this Offer, it applies to 'new' and 'existing' customers alike, who also benefit from the same two 'future' periods of time - as it rolls over.
[Unless Egg have themselves made a mistake!..]
Too late now, I've done the BT. I'll know by 18th if this is a slip up on my part. [N.B March 2004 was when the Egg Offer began, so this is the first month in which a third such BT could be requested. Anyone else got a 'March' card?].....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
Sorry, May 2004 I started0

My Egg card started 04/04. I did a 5 month balance transfer in April last year. When I cleared it I increased my credit limit to £10000 and will this April do a balance tranfer of £9500 (5 month less repayment wiggle room) with no fee. This was confirmed by Egg.

I have a March Card and I received a Happy Anniversary e-mail from Egg today.0

Encouraged by the ambiguity of this offer I 'messaged' Egg yesterday to ask if the anniversary offer was still open to me...I have a March issue card (pre 2004) with a zero balance that I held on to just in case....But I haven't actually used the anniversary offer before. I was told by phone before Xmas that it would not be available to me ('Offer was only for 2 years').
Now have written reply from Egg saying offer is available to me! Have already done a balance transfer so we'll see.......
Interestingly, the only time Egg have invited me to use this offer was when I had an outstanding balance on the card....(year 1)
I missed last year (year 2) when I had a zero balance because I stupidly thought Egg would tell me it was my anniversary month and invite me to use the offer. I also thought the relevant personal anniversary info would be available after logging in to the website, but it isn't, you have to ask for it....
It seems the offer is available if you ask, but they don't suggest that you ask!
I haven't kept the terms and conditions from the original offer-perhaps it was an open ended offer then but it isn't now? therefore older issue cards could be covered by terms and conditions that have since changed?.....
...(or would Egg have just sent a variance notice giving 30 days for you to cancel contract if you didn't agree with new terms?) Just a thought...
(By the way, I find I get a faster response from Egg by 'messaging' on the website (after logging in) than by emailing)
No anniversary email for me last time I checked...0 -
Like catgil, I recieved an anniversary invitation email today after posting above. It says:
Subject: Happy anniversary
Date: 01/03/2006 18:03:15 GMT Standard Time
It's the anniversary of when you got your Egg Card and we'd like to say thank you for being a customer. So here's a special anniversary present for you.
Celebrate in style
As a special anniversary 'thank you' you'll get 0% interest fixed until 1 August 2006 on any balances you transfer throughout March 2006. From 2 August 2006 you'll pay our standard rate, currently 15.9% pa variable. And that's not just on credit and store card balances either – you can transfer balances from loans and overdrafts too
So that's official then, the offer is available for a third time - presumably on the basis described above.both new customers and our existing ones get the same two year anniversary offer - guaranteed
(Oh, and I'd also suggest it's always worth requesting a credit limit increase either in the run up to or even during the anniversary month...).....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
What would you say if a famous pax answered your question?0
