Subaru Impreza Engine Warning Light
Wonder if anyone could help?
Recently bought a 2001 Subaru Impreza 1.6 TS AWD - not the sporty version, just a simple estate!
Anyway, it has been fairly reliable, but the Engine Management Warning Light has just come on and the manual states to take it to a dealer. The light has come on a couple of times on cold mornings and was associated with the engine stuttering, but always cleared within a few seconds. Now the light is on permanently, but the engine seems to be operating normally - no loss of acceleration, revs etc?
Searched the internet, but no real pointers. Anyone had similar problems or suggest a possible cause for the problem? Didn't pay much for the car and would hate to take it to a Subaru dealer to fix for possibly more than I paid for it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

undo the battery for an hour
clean the sensors, try again0 -
Ask on a Subaru Board, but you can get your own scanner to read the code and reset (once you have fixed the problem) you probably need a OBC II (2) scanner like this.

I am not recomendingthe product or the company.
The dealer can just read the code and tell you whats wrong probably charges £50 for this!!!0 -
