    That's a 5 year term though ?

No withdrawals or additional deposits - after account opening

edit: or 4 years if you have a spare million ;)

I think you shoud have included "5 year term ' in your subject line. Not a good deal imo

    Hi all,

I think the alliance and leicester 2 year fixed rate bond is better for anyone having 30k to invest.

Its 4.01% or 3.94% if you want to take your interest on a monthly basis.
Another plus I think if you want to close your bond its only 90 days loss of interest, handy if you find that interest rates suddenly jump up by 2% or more in a years time.

Well that will be very nice in 18% months time if we have interest rates at 8 or 9 % and the saucepan blown off the lid with ramping inflation!...Thanks for letting us know but I'll pass on this one and take my chances on one year bonds

Sounds Rubbish to me , Rates could be a lot higher than that in two or three years & there are bound to be better alternatives in the mean time .
