How long does it take from applying for a new card (with 0% on balance transfers) until the balance is transferred from an existing card?
Just wondering how long before my current 0% deal expires I should start applying for another one?
Thanks in advance

I start looking for new cards 6 weeks before the old intro offer is due to expire. I typically apply for a card about 4 or 5 weeks before it expires which has mostly worked for me. The things that take the time are (1) how manual the card company's process is and how many application they are dealing with. For a very popular new card this would take 20 days, (2) once you have signed the Ts & Cs and they have set your account up, allow 7 to 10 banking days for a BT to take place.
