London congestion charge

I`ve booked 3 days at the Islington Travellodge for a tenner a night giving me the choice of going by train,motorbike or car(if daughter comes).
I would arrive late on a Friday and leave Monday.As I would already be in the congestion zone on Monday morning,would I have to pay the charge to leave it?

Yes. The congestion charge is paid to drive within the zone during the prescribed hours ... but, I'm sure islington is just outside the zone.

The charge is payable for driving within the zone, not just in and out and there are mobile and fixed cameras around to check up on you. You could avoid it by arriving after 6.30pm being out of the zone by 7am on Monday.

Almost all of Islington is outside the congestion charging. Is it the one on the Grays Inn Road? If so that is within the CC area I'm afraid. Pretty sure the one at King's Cross is too.

Both are very close to the edge of the zone so you could, in theory, park a couple of hundred meters away and avoid the charge. As the traffic wardens in that area are mostly former members of South American paramilitary organisations and the Iraqi secret police (or seem to be) I'd be very careful of getting a ticket / clamped / imprisoned without trial if you get caught.
