Credit Score and Credit Cards

Options
Hope someone can help here,

I am having a bit of trouble getting credit. I have checked on my credit scoring report and found to be in the low 400's. Now I am being rejected as I think there have been too many searches done on me.

What Can I do to try and repair this.

I have seen a card

Capital One Classic Visa Card

* No Annual Fee
* Between £200 and £2,500 in spending power
* A FREE choice of card design
* Spread your payments
* Accepted in over 20 million outlets and over 800,000 cash machines worldwide
* Typical 29.9% APR variable

Do you think this would work to repair the score? as this is suppoesed to be a card for people with CCJ's and Defaulted payments.

If you don't ask, you don't find out!

    Capital One do some very basic cards for those with poor credit...one at least vitually asks you to provide a deposit and gives you a basic £200 limit. It is however a 'proper' Visa (not Visa Electron rubbish) and can get you on the long long road to re-establish your credit.

    Of course if its viable you could move and start over ;-)

    Make sure you have recieved all THREE reports from the CRA's Experian/Equifax/Callcredit.

    Here's some advice - if its down to the searches, then not much else will improve the score apart from searches falling off. That comes from me observing my credit score once a month since september and more regularly over the past 2 months.
