Direct Line Car Insurance - "Our computer is CRAP" - Their words!!

On receiving my car insurance renewal today from Direct Line, I tried the various comparison sites and very quickly found cheaper quotes.
On phoning Direct Line, I was put through to a 'loyalty rep' who very quickly took £40+ off my quote.
When I suggested I was slightly annoyed that it was easily possibly to reduce my quote by just phoning up I was told this was possible because he had been able to override the computer system manually by imputting further information.
On suggesting that this didn't seem like a very good computer system, I received the reply, "I KNOW, OUR COMPUTER SYSTEM IS CRAP!"
I asked if I could quote him on this, on this web site (which he hadn't heard of) and he said YES!!!
Well there we go.
And Direct Line - if you want to verify the conversation - ask and I'll tell you what time and date to listen to your tapes! WELL DONE FOR YOUR HONESTY!!!

They will have just added a %age loyality or retention discount then refreshed the quote.

Insurance systems are designed like this, if you don't ask you don't get.

They (RBS) are not much better at investing money either...

P.S Most Insurers have cheaper prices for new customers to entice them in which are subsidised by the existing customers who do not shop around...

Insurers work on a 'New customers only' basis.

When will you kids wake up to this?
