Saving For 6 Months

I need to find the best way to save money for the next six months as am expecting to be a proud parent come September.
The trouble is at the moment i am looking for an account where i can put money in every month manage online and also make withdrawals if needed.
The main use of this account is for saving for all the baby things so for example i may save for 2 months and then spend some of what i have saved but will still carry on saving.
Any help and advice would be much appreciated as this is baffling me to say the least.

If you need all the cash within the 6 months, then I wouldn't bother looking for the best paying account. (Obviously depends on the amount your saving though)
An instant savings account with your bank will probably be sufficient.0 -
Thing is i'm not sure what exactly i'm looking for.
My sort of monthly saving is going to be around about £200 but this account would be used still after September.
I'm not that fussed about switching banks i'm just lookin to see if there was any specific accounts that catered for this type of scenario.0 -
I'd go for the highest paying instant access account I can find. You may also want to put some money in to a regular saver account, knowing you can;t touch it for a year.
e.g. £150 a month instant access, £50 a month for bills next year!
www.moneysupermarket.com/savings is a good starting point.
Review your account at least once a year, to ensure you are getting a decent rate as and when market conditions change.0 -
