Sealing off an electrical wire

Hi all can someone help please. I removed an old wall unit from my house today and found a round junction boxw which I discovered was there to feed two wall lights that are no longer there. That leaves me with a live wire that comes up from under the wooden floor. Without having to rip up floorboards to discover where this wire comes from, how do i properly seal it off so I can just push it somewhere out of sight, probably back through the hole it came from. Many thanks

You can't just terminate it at a JB and bury it or push it back through if it's live, it's against the regs. JB's have to be accessible. If you bury it in the wall no-one will know it is there in future and could drill into it etc.
Have it properly terminated where it spurs off the ring main, if you don't want to go under the floor and it's visible you can just fit a flush box where it finishes on the wall.

If the floor cannot come up (we are talking on one or two short lengths of floorboard, if boarded, no more) then he will terminate it in a flush box and blanking plate at the lowest possible level. Something like this?

Bit difficult to be more precise without knowing the layout of your kitchen.
