since new combi boiler fitted, shower has been leaking. the feeder and storage tanks have been removed, so all taps and the shower are getting direct feed..
as i dont use the shower much anyway, i wondered if it was worth just getting it removed, and have the water pipes that feed it tapped off?
any idea how much this would cost, or is it better to just have new shower fitted?
££ is v tight, so some MSE inspiration needed here!

remove shower approx one hour
New fitted shower could be anything from an hour to half a day depending ontiling etcHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
Have you considered doing the work yourself? I don't have any previous experience, but have just removed a sink and capped off the existing pipework with no problems. It took about 5 minutes, and cost about £12 for a blowtorch, pipe cutter, flux & solder ring end caps. I can't imagine that removing a shower would necessarily be any more difficult.0

You do not even need to solder the end caps. You can get perfectly usable push fit end caps.. Not likely to have a problem if you buy the ones that can be locked on to the pipe.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -

Well, obviously you have to find the isolation valves first and turn them off. If anyone does not know how to do this, in their dwelling, then they are asking for trouble. It is as important to know how to do this as it is to know how to switch off the electrics.I can afford anything that I want.
