Argos TV repair - how long is reasonable

Hi
Bought a TV from Argos 8 months ago and it has developed a fault. Took it into store hoping for a replacement but they decided to send it off for repair - fair enough. However it has now been away 3 weeks. How long before I should ask for a replacement or refund? I am sure legally they can keep it for a "reasonable time" but at some point they either have to return it fixed or replace it and I think 3 weeks is getting near that threshold.
Thanks
Rich

Yes i think a reasonable enought time has elapsed for you to contact themmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I recently did a claim through argos with a product I'd taken insurance out on and was told that it was upto 6 weeks and personally I think thats a reasonable amount of time to repair something, as it can take 3 weeks easily to get parts.0

I went in 3 weeks to the day and it still wasnt back so they called the repair centre and it had been repaired but then "lost" in the Argos system so I got a credit to spend instead.0

What is the cat number/model of the television?
The advisor should have informed you that it may be upto 16 working days. It is dependant on part availability/service time etc. If you haven't got it back soon give the store a ring. I know that my boss usually gives a replacement if the TV has been away longer than 16 working days.
The number of the store is: 0845 1657 *** - replace the 3 stars with the 3-digit number of the store you returned it to.
Best of luck.[DISCLAIMER: Any posts made by myself are my opinions and do not represent my employer]

Sorry to dig up a bit of an old thread but I've got a similar problem with my ipod and I've been told it will take 5 weeks ( 2 weeks from now to have it repaired ). The ipod was the 1st gen touch from the older catalogue and isn't listed anymore. Am I entitled to asking for a replacement/ credit? Any advice would be great thanks.

Did the store you took it to say it would take 5 weeks? That seems a little extreme as iPod returns are usually a quick (1-2 week) turnaround.
You wouldn't be entitled to an automatic replacement/gift card as you've had some enjoyment out of the item and you've got to give Argos time to send it off, but 5 weeks sounds a bit extreme!
Double check the 5 weeks thing, usually it's upto around 16 working days max, and as far as I know there's no delay with the repair agents. (if any of my fellow Argos colleagues could back me up with this one, I can't remember if it's Apple or Regenersis)
Hope this helps!![DISCLAIMER: Any posts made by myself are my opinions and do not represent my employer]
