Cheap but nice hotel in Bristol!

Hey everyone,
I need to book one night in a hotel in Bristol for myself and my boyfriend for the 16th March, and as students we need somewhere cheap and cheerful!
Has anyone got any suggestions on how to get a nice room in the city centre for a good price? It doesnt have to be dirt cheap, but it can't be extortionate either!
We're going to be going by train too, has anyone got any suggestions on how to cut down the price there too? We'll both be using Student Rail Cards, which should help, but does anyone know anything else we can do?
Thanks a lot guys!

Hi Amy
Had a quick look on some websites for you for the dates you wanted:
Travelodge - Central, £55 per room for a family room ensuite with shower. (Usually very large rooms, clean but no character but then more money to spend on going out!) This was the cheapest room when i looked on https://www.expedia.co.uk.
Novotel - https://www.novotel.com - £114 plus £12 each for breakfast - looks ok on website.
Jurys Inn - https://www.jurysdoyle.com £119.00 Room Only - nice hotel.
My favourite is City Inn Bristol https://www.cityinn.com £139.00 per room - i think this is a room only rate, cancel by 2pm day of arrival, but i would pay more and stay in a nicer hotel - i copied the facilities from website as follows, its modern and looks clean.
Enhanced fresh air-conditioning and high-level sound proofing
Floor-to-ceiling glass windows; windows that open
Flat screen TV, DVD and CD player with complimentary music and movie library
Colour television with satellite channels and pay movies
Queen-sized beds (twins available) with king-sized duvets
Walk-in power shower and mist-free mirrors
Luxury cotton bathrobes
Internet connections
Direct dial telephones with voicemail services
Complimentary bathroom amenities
Hairdryer
'City Inn Temptations' snack and gift selection
Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits
24-hour room service
Trouser press
Newspaper of your choice delivered upon request
Smoking rooms available
Express check-in and check out
What i usually do when bookign hotels is go to https://www.expedia.co.uk to get an idea of what is available, then go to hotels own website to book. Then look on https://www.tripadvisor.com to get opinions of the hotel.
Regarding train tickets where are you travelling from - if you look on https://www.thetrainline.com you can see how much different tickets are using your student card and you may need to get an APEX ticket to get the best value fare, although these arent flexible. Or if you look on https://www.nationalexpress.com there are always deals on their website - go anywhre for £9 was showing when i just looked.
I hope this has helped you - if you need any more advice please reply to this email or contact me directly.
Enjoy bristol!!

The YHA Youth Hostel is in a brilliant position right on the waterfront where there are loads of bars, restaurants, the @Bristol attraction and the IMAX cinema. That area seems very popular with young people, and has a lively almost continental atmosphere. Youth Hostels now seem to have plenty of smaller rooms that sleep 2/3 or 4 so it's not always the dormitory accommodation that you tend to expect from them.0

Book your train tickets online at least 2 weeks before the date of departure. The earlier you book, the cheaper your travel will be.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0
