Notice Pay & Secured Loan

I've two points I would like advice with
1) Last year I was made redundant, firm went into administration and I got full redundancy - 1½ weeks x 6 years service, and I also got a weeks pay (taxable) for every year of service (6 weeks). This year my husband is probably going to be made redundant, but all I can see is how to work out your redundancy package on various sites with no mention of notice pay, was this just my old company who paid this or is it normal practice. My husband works for a completly different kind of employer than I did, there's no way they'll pay more than they have to.
2) My second query is any idea of what allowances etc we may be entitled to, I do work 18 hours a week £144 per week, there's only my husband and me at home now and we have paid off our mortgage but unfortunately we have a secured loan £30,000 against the house. All bills etc, pared to the bone after my redundancy come to £980 per month before food, petrol etc, seems high I know but there are £505 loan payments to be made each month. £398 the secured payment loan, have paid off credit cards so clear there.

Minimum notice pay is usually based on your contracted weekly basic pay, for every completed year of service
Your husband should be eligable for cotribution based JSA
you can check what else on here

For the rest a good place to go is on the DFW board, The first thing they will suggest is doing an SOA

The next thing they'll say is make sure you pay the secured loan, that has become a priority debt same as a mortgage,
Inform your creditors about what has happened , they may reduce payments
I've put a bit of info on on my thread in the first post that might be of use

Thank you for your help, still a bit confused though
Hubby has worked three years, but if they don't tell him for just over two weeks, and if he is given three weeks notice, it will take him over four years, will this increase his redundancy payment. Started work 19/04/05? I know he'll be made to work notice payment, he's been on a three day week for the last month, how does this affect his redundancy and notice.0 -
I think we both got a bit cafuddled
If your husband is given his notice and works it then he shouldget paid for that
I thaught you meant Pay In Lieu Of Notice (PILON)
If his notice period takes him over a completed years service he is entitled to the extra yearPROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBT NERD #869Numpty,Not sure why but I'm crying. Of all the peeps on this board you're the kindest & most supportive of all & I'm  &
