hi, you may be able to get a place if you provide a guarantor for you.also a way round it is to pay 6 months rent up front but i know this is not always feasible.
  • Thanks for that someone has said they would be guarantor if we needed them to be, would that secure the property for us do u think??

Yes, it should. Your guarantor will have to be willing to fill in forms etc and provide evidence of their ability to cover your rent if you default on it.

We got a rented flat when my OH lost his job (and I was a SAHM) because my dad agreed to be guarantor.

Make sure you mention the guarantor as soon as your LA starts asking questions about money and rent etc.

Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

just to mention also that when we had to have a guarantor in the past the letting agent also credit checked her and would not allow it as she had ccjs according to the credit check.this stopped us being able to get the house as we had no other guarantor to ask so just be prepared as some letting agents will do this.
