Up to what time to avoid M25 to Heathrow

Thanks all... lots to think about!

We need to keep open minds about the trip. I'm quite fancying the chance to visit Oxford and would certainly use the park & ride. Looked at the P&R website and the return journey for 2 people is £4 and runs well past 11pm!

With our Heathrow hotel being only an hour away from Oxford (if the traffic is flowing OK) we can stay there up to about 7.30 - 8pm and still be at the hotel at a reasonable time. This is going to make the journey 'part of the holiday' rather than a stressfull 'mad dash' to the airport. We'll be looking forward to exploring Oxford as much as eating frozen maple syrup out of snow covered troughs in Canada!

But I will also take details of the outlet village and also postcodes of Sizzling Pubs in that area to punch into my sat nav, just in case we've been delayed en-route and need to just stop for tea. This route planning is giving us something to do while we are counting down the days - 20 days to go!
