its recomended that you only run one anti virus system. removing norton can be a pain but you'll most likely notice an increase in the speed of your system.
there shouldn't be a need to purchase something else. i'd recomend Avast home edition or AVG. Both tried and tested and Free!
Depending upon your version of norton you will most likely find the program in add/remove (programs in vista) if i recall you can remove everything by removing the security center.kicking squealing gucci little piggy.0 -
Use the REMOVAL tool (Top link in 45678s post)
Simply uninstalling usually wont get rid of it all
DONT install AVG ~ its cr*p
Personally id use AVIRA in its place ~
Download AVIRA ANTI VIRUS PERSONAL (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')

Make sure you switch on WINDOWS FIREWALL once nortons gone (Or use a 3rd party one, I use PCTOOLS firewall):idea:0 -
I use macafee and have for four years now. AOL offer this free if you have them as you isp. Natwest offer this free if you bank with them (via internet banking). I find it the best after first using norton. Visit the website and have a look.0
