confused.com - Bell insurance warning

Hi,
I used confused.com to find a competitive quote for car insurance and ended up selecting Bell (part of the Admiral group). The price and cover looked good at the time, but since submitting my proof of no claims bonus I have had to pay an extra £30.35 to correct my policy details.
Basically, some of my previous claims and convictions did not transfer correctly from the confused.com system. I didn't check the details for an exact match when I accepted the Bell policy. In defence to Bell they were very helpful when I called up and managed to correct the details very quickly.
For now on I'll always be re-entering my details manually once I have selected an insurance company, which will probably have the benefit that I can use Quidco or similar to get some cash back.

A lesson on one of the perils of buying on the internet, you are entering the information and the Insurers make it your responsibility to read any paper work and check the data is entered correctly. If you make a mistake its classed as your fault.
If you ring the Insurer or Broker and they make a mistake you normally have a right of recourse with them.
So always be extremely careful when buying Insurance on the internet, it is a complicated product but is often sold as a commodity like a tin of beans. If you ever need to make a claim on your insurance it can either save your thousands or cost you thousands0 -
So it was your error in essence..........?Reassuringly expensive0
