As my 0% period is due to end next week with Lloyds Advance card (originally 18 months at 0%), I paid off the balance and phoned to close account - or take another 0% period.
First person I spoke to didn't know if further offers were available. Next person said that 0% offers were only available to new customers. I accepted this and asked to close card; she had to transfer me to another department to do this. Here I explained again what I was trying to do; "Rubbish!" he said when I told him I couldn't get an extension.
The upshot is that I have a further 6 month 0% period, credit limit £15k and no fee for BT! Needless to say I have already made good use of this!!
