egg ppi refund plese help

This is interesting. I'm in the same boat with Egg. My - still current - loan agreement states a PPI amount of £2100!!!!!! I was so shocked when I checked.
I've sent them the template letter 1 and they still have about 4 weeks to reply.
I absolutely need the money in a cheque and not put into my loan as I have a much, much higher interest debt that I need to pay off ASAP.
Are we absolutely sure they can't force payment into your current balance? Who can I confirm this with?
Fingers crossed.
The very first claim I ever made for PPI was with a firm called i-smart.
They told me that their legal team confirms that PPI is refundable to you in cash form (cheque of course) and cannot be forced on your account as a reversle of funds unless you opt for that. The banks will offer and even suggest that because of arrears or outstanding balance, that this is their policy. Dont stop at that!! It's ok for a bank to say that, banks can sawy anything - if left unchallenged then that payment will be made via those means.
You have to chalenge it and then they do what they KNOW they SHOULD do.
Just becuase they cannot do something, does not mean that they cannot suggest that there policy is different.
You'll never get a bank charge paid out is you have an outstanding balance - cos they know that they are not legally obliged to return in that format.
check out the company and ask them the question. it'll back up what you say.
DONT FORGET THOUGH - if you are dealing with this on your own, they will natually see that, so they will bluff and misguide you the whole way cos you will not be anywhere near a big enough threat as a law firm. They will know this and tell you anything and everything to get you to go away.
That's the danger of going it alone, its three times as stressful and you may miss errors on their part. Do not accept an offer unless you know that this is the full amount. Of course use common sense for your own cirsumstances - but they will offer you a pittance to start. Be careful of that.0
