Being able to live independently at home is something most of us take for granted, but for many people looking after a home can be a source of frustration and difficulty. Even dealing with minor chores such as changing a light bulb or fixing a broken lock can prove to be a real struggle. The Royal British Legion run a FREE SERVICE called POPPY CALLS, which provides a free dedicated handy-person service to those who are unable to carry out small repairs and alterations to their homes. To be eligible, you must have served in the Forces for at least 7 days, or be the dependant of someone who has served; this includes widows and widowers.
